The forum of gospel ministers, who work in various parts of the Niger Delta region, observed that skills acquisition and other projects of the programme initiated by Dokubo yielded visible results and drastically reduced militancy. Dokubo was honoured with Apostle of Peace award, as a reward for his determination to change the Niger Delta narrative within nine months in office. He urged Dokubo to include members of the council whenever special purpose committees are set up across the Niger Delta to create an avenue for religious leaders to interface with beneficiaries. “It is a painful thing that our people do not want to use this office to empower themselves. It is to empower the Niger Delta people; to ensure that they are nursed back to life, for them to be in charge of their fortune and future.
